ON THE RADAR

Founded in 2019, RADAR Festival was created with the goal of celebrating progressive and alternative music while giving both established artists and emerging bands a platform to perform in front of passionate fans.

Formerly based in Manchester, RADAR is moving to Sheffield for its 2027 edition. The festival has grown into one of the UK’s leading festivals for modern heavy music, attracting fans from across the world with its carefully curated lineups and unique atmosphere.

Unlike larger mainstream rock and metal festivals, RADAR focuses on creativity, technical ability and innovation. The festival champions artists who push the boundaries of their genres, making it a key event for fans of progressive metal, djent, post hardcore, experimental rock and alternative music.

RADAR FESTIVAL 2027 DATES

RADAR Festival 2027 takes place during the summer and runs across multiple days from July 31st to August 1st, bringing fans together in Sheffield for a celebration of progressive and alternative music.

LINEUP

The first artist has been announced for RADAR Festival 2027, with legendary composer and musician Mick Gordon joining the lineup.

Best known for creating the iconic soundtracks for the DOOM video game series, Mick Gordon has become one of the most influential names in modern heavy music, blending crushing metal riffs, industrial soundscapes and electronic elements to create a sound that has inspired a new generation of musicians.

For RADAR Festival 2027, Mick Gordon will bring the DOOM soundtrack to life in a special live performance, featuring the music performed with a full band and orchestra. The performance will mark the first time the DOOM score has been performed live in this format
